My background and training
In Gloucestershire I am a member of Cotswold Talking Therapies, collaborating with one other committed colleague who practices in other parts of the Cotswolds.
I graduated from the humanistic psychotherapy training at Spectrum, a leading centre for humanistic and integrative therapy in North London that was at that time registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. I have since continued my professional development at Spectrum and am in regular supervision in Bristol. My professional membership is with the UK Association for Humanistic Psychology Practitioners (UKAHPP) as an Associate Member working towards accreditation, and I work to the UKAHPP's Codes of Practice and Ethics.
I have been practicing humanistic counselling and psychotherapy since 2003, including four years in specialised bereavement work.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I grew up in the US where I studied Russian at Yale University. I lived and worked in Russia for 7 years before moving to the UK in 1999. In Russia and in the UK, I have also been involved in facilitating interactive and experiential workshops with groups, including in communication and conflict resolution with the Alternatives to Violence Project.
I enjoy walking, cycling and being surrounded by nature - which has inspired the original photos here.
